Wanted: Relationships that last a life time!
As a child, I have many wonderful memories of the Lanphears! They were members of our church and one of my first employers.
To this day, I long to hear the voices of Mr. Lanphear, Mr. Simpson and Mr. Johnson singing at the Christmas Eve service- they were the three wise men. Christmas Eve at our church is one of my most favorite childhood memories. They would pass out candles so we could sing Silent Night in a darkened, beautiful sanctuary lit by candle light. They would have a live telling of the birth of Jesus. I will never forget the moment the three wise men entered from the back of the church. THE VOICES! JUST WOW!
Words cannot do their voices justice. They were dressed as Kings, the hush that fell over the congregation as they proceeded down the isle with their presents to deliver to baby Jesus, their voices resonated and filled the space in the cathedral ceilings. Solemn, deep, bold, mesmerizing, vibrant, strong tenor and bass voices. Mr. Lanphear was so tall, he still is today!
The Lanphears owned Lanphear Supply Division and Forest City Tree Protection Co., Inc. Mr. Lanphear has won countless awards including Aborist of the Year (Society of Commercial Arboriculture), Award of Merit (Tree Care Industry Association), Award of Achievement (International Society of Arboriculture) and Award of Merit and Golden Buckeye Award (Ohio Chapter, ISA).
They were also one of the first families to hire me for babysitting. Will and Clare are not children anymore. Their house was nestled in the woods. It was a beautiful home. I remember being frightened of the darkness surrounding the home at night after the children went to bed. Today, I wish for the peacefulness of that darkness and that home at night.
So when I heard that the City of South Euclid was dedicating a park to the family, I had to reach out. I was honored to be a part of this event.
THIS is a part of my job that I love. I love the journey with my clients. I want families to grow with. If this speaks to you, I am the photographer for you!
This blog is dedicated to Mr. Lanphear and Mr. Simpson who has recently passed. Thank you for amazing memories.
