Rachelle arrived at the Northeast Ohio SPCA on September 8th from All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc. (AARF). She is currently the shelter's longest resident.
1 year old cattle dog mix
extremely active and playful
full of energy
needs a home without cats
loves being pet
needs some training
Rachelle is extremely active and playful. She would be a great fit for an active owner that enjoys lots of walks, jogging, or hiking. She is full of energy and would love a big fenced in yard with lots of space to run and play. Rachelle can be a bit "mouthy" when playing and likes to jump, so a home with small children may not be best in her forever home. She has also shown some aggression to cats while at the shelter so a home with no cats is preferred. Rachelle would enjoy a dog sibling to play with, but the shelter does stress a meet & greet before adopting to ensure that the two dogs get along well.
Although the shelter staff believes that plenty of exercise would be the ultimate remedy for Rachelle's rambunctious tendencies, she could also probably use some training.
Rachelle has been at the shelter for so long that she is becoming desperate to get out of her kennel.
She's a total sweetheart that loves affection and being pet.
The perfect family for her will be an active one that is willing to give her lots of playtime and patience with training.

Cindy arrived at the Northeast Ohio SPCA on September 22, 2018 from All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc (AARF).
2 year old shepherd/collie mix
lots of love to give
needs someone to take a chance on her
After Cindy arrived at the shelter, staff learned that she was pregnant. She delivered her babies in early October and was placed into foster care so that she could comfortable nurse her babies. Once Cindy's babies were old enough to get spayed or neutered they were and all were quickly adopted, but Cindy was not. :(
The shelter staff is unsure of what Cindy has been through in her past, but it does seem that she has a hard time trusting people. She is very friendly with most people, but she can be picky when it comes to other animals and children. It is recommended that Cindy be placed in a home where she will be the only child (no other pets or children).
The ideal parent(s) would have lots of patience and a willingness to work with Cindy. Despite her past, she has so much love to give and really needs someone to step up and take a chance!
If interested in meeting Cindy, please stop by the shelter!
Beau arrived at the Northeast Ohio SPCA on October 5 from All About Rescue and Fixin' (AARF).
1-2 years old black mouth cur mix (a hunting and cattle dog)
needs a home without cats
Beau keeps a clean cage at the shelter, so potty training should be a breeze. He likes to interact and he does well with older children. Beau seems to dislike cats, so a home without cats is recommended.
Beau would do well with an active owner who is ready to embrace his soft, sweet and loving side!
